The Works

Liudmyla Keremet, The Old Curiosity Shop

The Old Curiosity Shop

“The Old Curiosity Shop” is an original artwork inspired by Charles Dickens’ novel of the same name. Drawing upon the atmosphere of the story, the composition invites the viewer into an imaginative old-world setting filled with books, unusual objects, and mechanical elements.

Created using advanced three-dimensional nail art techniques, the piece combines hand sculpting, hand painting, and intricate miniature decorative elements. The characters, books, and other sculptural details were created and painted by hand, while metal gears were incorporated as separate decorative elements within the composition.

Built upon an extreme Stiletto nail form, the piece transforms nail art into an independent art object. Particular attention is given to character, texture, proportion, and intricate detail, demonstrating the potential of contemporary nail art as a form of miniature decorative art.

Liudmyla Keremet, The Road to the Oscar

The Road to the Oscar

“The Road to the Oscar” is an original series of miniature artworks by Liudmyla Keremet, dedicated to Leonardo DiCaprio’s artistic journey and his long path toward receiving his first Academy Award. The artwork was originally created for the “Hollywood Dreams” competition theme at Nailympia Anaheim 2026, where it received 2nd Place in Flat Art Boxed, Division 2.

The composition presents a visual biography of the actor through a sequence of individually hand-painted nail tips. Each miniature represents a significant stage of his career, incorporating imagery inspired by some of his most important films and performances. A continuous filmstrip travels throughout the composition, connecting the individual scenes into a single visual narrative, from the emergence of a young actor and his rise to international recognition to the culminating moment of receiving his long-awaited Academy Award.

Every portrait and artistic element was painted entirely by hand using miniature fine-art techniques. The work explores nail art as an independent form of miniature visual art capable of communicating a complex narrative and transforming a series of small surfaces into a unified artistic story.
