About the
Artist
My name is Oksana Viriutina. I am a Ukrainian-born, California-based award-winning nail artist with a decade of professional experience. I have received multiple international awards, including gold medals at Nailympia and the Global Talent Beauty Cup, and my work has been recognized by leading industry publications such as Scratch Magazine.
My artistic practice combines technical mastery with visual storytelling, symbolism, and conceptual design. Through my work, I aim to take nail art beyond traditional beauty and explore its potential as a sophisticated, expressive form of contemporary art.
The Works
Pixel 6247
“Pixel 6247” is a portrait of youth created from 6,247 hand-applied gel dots. Inspired by Picasso’s fragmented forms, each dot represents a thought, memory, emotion, or experience. Together, they shape a complex, vibrant, unique identity. Created using gel, acrygel, gel paints, and gel polishes.
The Way Home
In this story, the viewer looks toward the horizon and sees a noble crane rising from dense bamboo thickets. Its destination is unknown: the viewer can only imagine where it is flying and why, placing themselves in the bird’s position.
The crane rises higher and higher toward the sun, following its instinctive path home. Along the way it encounters obstacles, symbolized by sharp elements that it cuts through with wings as precise as a blade. Despite the challenges, it continues forward until it ultimately returns home.
For me, this piece represents the universal symbolism of a difficult but meaningful journey, something that resonates deeply both in life and in a professional creative path.
